James is a well-rounded, adaptable generalist and former professor with almost a decade’s worth of experience in everything from concept art to web design, 3D modeling and animation, and VFX. He’s worked with hundreds of students of all ages, cultures, and abilities, and is firmly of the belief that learning is a lifelong process. Likewise, as a proponent of GameU’s STEAM-based methodology, James is convinced that game development is something that anyone can learn – as well as a field that will benefit from a wider range of creative voices. This same approach has enabled him to contribute to and collaborate with a variety of projects and other stellar artists and designers. Ultimately, however, his goal is to help his students make things that they are proud of!
In his free time, James enjoys cooking, rewatching old anime, and playing video games with his wife and friends.
